Why is Silver Superior?

Black and White images made from silver have been around for over 150 years. There is no doubt that real silver Black and White images last and have a timeless quality that cannot be matched. Genuine high quality Black & White prints are still highly sought after for the distinctive look and interpretation they bring to a subject, enhancing its merit artistically and have a higher intrinsic value.

Each negative is individually hand printed using traditional darkroom techniques on Ilford Multigrade IV FB glossy paper by Paul Cooklin. (View lford's website)

The original print is hand signed, dated and titled on the reverse in ink. If you would like the mount signed and dated in pencil please get in touch after placing your order. The mounts are extra thick 'gallery white' and of conservation standards and the backing boards are acid free.

The images are captured in-camera and not digitally created or manipulated. You are investing in original art which has been made by hand and not mass produced. Due to the many variables when printing, each piece is original and unique, although closely matches the original master print. The mounted prints are shipped ready to be framed in a frame of your choice.

Note - All of the black and white images displayed within the collections have been scanned from the original negative, not the original print. Not all negatives are suitable for darkroom printing. All images are subject to a series of test prints in order to ensure the final piece matches the photographers' high standards before being released as an original print. You will receive a confirmation email once your chosen piece has been printed and proofed before being sent to you. If an acceptable original print is not achievable you will be given the choice of a signed and mounted Lambda silver gelatin print (See 'Reproduction Prints' page) and/or a partial/full refund. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your specific requirements.
